We played our first gig as Masker on September 2022 in the half full barfly café in downtown Montréal. Jacob Saint-James from Montréal was kind to open for us with his solo set, performing original compositions blending powerful poetic song with high level acoustic guitar playing. We performed as a trio (Nick on piano and guitar, Luke on bass and myself on guitar and providing samples), we played a mix of improvisations, tracks from our Masker’s Rub and Nick’s Les chats du plateau albums. It was a great experience, some things worked very well, some parts need work and further exploring. The show did open the door for a lot more future live endeavours.
